FAQ
- Is my text saved or uploaded anywhere?
- No. Your text is autosaved only in your own browser's local storage so it's still there when you come back, and it's never sent to a server. Clearing your browser data or using a private window removes it. Use Save .txt to keep a copy.
- How do I find and replace text?
- Press Ctrl+F (⌘F on Mac) to find, or Ctrl+H (⌥⌘F on Mac) to find and replace — or use the toolbar. Enter jumps to the next match and Shift+Enter to the previous one. In the replace box, Enter replaces the current match and Ctrl/⌘+Enter replaces all.
- Can I use regular expressions?
- Yes. Turn on Regex to search with a JavaScript regular expression, and use $1, $2 in the replacement to insert captured groups — for example, find (\w+)@(\w+) and replace with $2 at $1. Match case and Whole word narrow any search.
- Can I undo a replace?
- Yes — in most browsers Replace and Replace all go onto the normal undo history, so Ctrl+Z (⌘+Z) reverts them.
