Why this exists

Global AI directories answer “what does this tool do?”. For an Indian business the harder questions come next: can I pay in rupees, will I get a GST invoice, does my data stay in India, does it understand Hindi or Tamil? AIproducts.in tracks those answers alongside the usual details.

The India-readiness score

Each tool gets one point for every check it passes, out of 7:

The score drives the default sort order. It is deliberately blunt — it tells you how much friction to expect, not whether the tool is good. DPDP Act posture is tracked and shown on every tool page but is not one of the 7 points above — data-protection law compliance isn’t a binary “friction” check the way pricing or invoicing is, so it gets its own row instead of a point.

The editorial score

Where a tool page shows an 0–5 “Editorial score”, that’s one editor’s subjective judgement of overall quality — build polish, reliability, how good the output actually is — separate from the India-readiness checklist above. It is not a customer rating or an average of user reviews; we don’t collect or display those. A sponsored or featured tool gets the same rating standard as any other listing.

How the data is kept current

Every listing carries a “last checked” date. A script (npm run check-freshness) flags listings older than 30 days and dead links; those get a manual re-review. India-readiness data is compiled by our editors from public vendor information and may be out of date. Verify GST invoicing, data residency and pricing with the vendor before you buy.

Listings & money

Basic listings are free. Vendors can pay for fast-track review, a “Featured” slot, or a “Sponsored” placement — all clearly labelled. Some outbound links are affiliate links. None of this changes a tool’s India-readiness score or its watch-outs; if a paid tool is weak, the page says so.

Corrections

Vendor or reader spotted something wrong? Tell us via the submit page or email info@aiproducts.in, and we’ll fix it and bump the “last checked” date.
