Three kinds of AI video tool
This category mixes three different jobs. Avatar video tools — Synthesia and HeyGen — turn a script into a presenter-led video and are used for training, explainers and localisation; both start at $29 a month and support five Indian languages in our data, though avatars still look synthetic up close. Generative video tools such as Runway create footage from text or images; Runway's free allowance is a one-time credit grant, not an ongoing free tier. Voice tools such as ElevenLabs and Murf AI handle narration and dubbing.
Most of these bill in US dollars with no Indian GST invoice. Canva Magic Studio is the exception, with rupee pricing from ₹500 a month and a GST invoice, and it covers simple video editing alongside design.
Our take
For internal training and how-to videos in Indian languages, test Synthesia and HeyGen on the same script and compare how the Hindi or Tamil voice sounds. For social clips, start with Canva. Budget carefully for generative video: credits run out fast once you're iterating on a real project, and credit-based resellers can make costs hard to predict.
