Bringing AI into a development team
Start with code completion and chat for everyone, then try agentic tools on low-risk work. GitHub Copilot is the easiest team-wide rollout, and organisation billing through Microsoft India makes a GST invoice possible; individual plans start at $10 a month. Cursor's agentic editing is stronger for large changes and shows rupee pricing from ₹649 a month, but its cheapest plan drops several features and usage can spike. Devin can take whole tickets end to end, but it needs careful review.
Agree rules early: what code can be sent to an AI tool, who reviews AI-written pull requests, and whether tests are required before merging.
Costs for a small team
Copilot is priced per seat, so a team's bill scales with headcount — check the organisation plan's per-seat price, since the $10 figure is the individual plan. Cursor's usage-based costs vary with how hard people use the agent, so watch the dashboard for the first month. ChatGPT Go at ₹399 or Claude at ₹2,399 a month are useful extras for design discussions and debugging, but neither gives a GST invoice.
